The Fat Burning Foods That Helped Me Lose 25lbs!

What’s up everyone!? In this short post I wanted to share with you the foods that helped me shed a whopping 25lbs over 4 months! I tried to incorporate these foods into my diet at least once a week alongside my exercise routine. The reason I choose them is because they’re quick and easy. I don’t have a lot of time to cook and prepare food at home, so these are a godsend! They’re super healthy, too.

I got my ideas from leanrunnerbean who offer a really good selection for women to choose from. They also tell you how they work, which is really neat. My favorites, which are included in their list are: Asparagus, Artichoke, Kale, Carrots, Beef, Chicken, Cottage Cheese, Mustard and Popcorn. I really encourage you to take a look for yourself and pick out what you like.

FYI: My total calorie intake per day was ~1550 and I also made sure to drink plenty of water, at least 1 liter a day.

How I lost My Muffin Top By Going Paleo

I’m a huge fan of things like the Paleo Diet. Why? Well, there again appears to be a change in the nutrition zeitgeist with fat no longer the bad-boy of healthy eating. Instead, it’s carbohydrates who now bear the bad-rap and there’s good research to back it up, too. Confusing, right?

Optimal nutrition seems to be an ever-changing beast. It’s only through reinforcement that the mantra of ~50% carbohydrates has become a mainstay and generally-accepted food rule.

The theory is that carbohydrates and legumes weren’t around back in the day and so our bodies never fully adapted to process them properly, leading to things like inflammation and weight gain.

Armed with this info, I reduced my carb intake to ~20%, with protein and (healthy) fats making up the remaining 40% each. The results were quite dramatic and saw my body fat levels drop by 8% and my body-weight drop by 15lbs over a 3 month period.

It’s important to note that I also watched my caloric intake and exercised for between 30-40 minutes 4 days a week. I also completely cut-out alcohol (except for the occasional glass of red) and any soft drinks. This, at the very least, goes to show the Paleo diet is an effective way to lose weight and tackle problem areas, like love handles and belly fat.
